FAQ

Can I attend a meeting or activity before I join?

Yes, you are more than welcome to attend an activity or meeting before joining.  This is a great way to meet our members and find out what we are all about.

Where are the meetings held?

We have monthly general meetings in a community facility on the North Shore; as well our various activities are at venues across the North Shore and sometimes in members' homes.

Do I need to host events?

No. There are some activities which take place in members’ homes and members can volunteer to host events. However, hosting is not a requirement for participating. Other groups meet at public venues.  The convener of the specific group will be able to give you more details.

What period does the membership cover?

The annual dues cover our membership year which runs from July 1 to June 30 of the following year.

What does the membership fee cover?

The club is run by our member volunteers, so the membership funds go to covering administrative costs, subsidizing various events, and renting our venue for our monthly meetings. We also pay to maintain our website and our membership with the National Newcomers Council of Canada, which includes insurance coverage.

Can I get a refund if I don’t attend any events?

The membership fee is non-refundable, so we encourage you to start participating and getting involved in all the fun activities.
